Ambari Baregarh Gaon Panchayat (ABGP), under the Panchayati Raj system of Assam, provides Trade License services to eligible business establishments operating within its jurisdiction. The Trade License is an important local regulatory mechanism intended to ensure that commercial activities are carried out in a lawful, orderly and responsible manner.
Under the Assam Panchayat Act, 1994, a Gaon Panchayat is empowered, subject to the applicable rules, to impose yearly tax on trades and callings carried on within its local jurisdiction.
